Wellness Studio Project
Brief: This was my Final Major Project where we were asked to develop and write our own briefs. I was able to get in contact with a wellness studio in Worthing who helped me to write a brief to help make it a more realistic project. In this we were asked to produce a construction pack with FF&E schedule and client research, a professional presentation and visuals of our designs for the project.

About the client: Salt water studios is a wellness studio in Worthing and they are looking to expand and add a studio in Plymouth. The choice of name ‘salt water’ reflects the values of the studio being that they believe salt water (sweat, tears and sea water) is the cure for anything. The studio take more of a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. The studio asked to include treatment rooms, spaces for classes, a cafe, plant and skincare store, changing rooms and a library. They wanted the space to be welcome to everyone with the intent to create a community.
My Concept for the space: The overall ideas for the space encapsulate the ethos of the brand being the sea. Including forms, textures and patterns created by the sea will help to transport the users to a relaxing and peaceful place. The blue used in the existing branding has been kept as this is something my clients asked to keep as it is key to their brand and their love for the sea. To make this colour pop, I have chosen to pair it with neutrals. The neutral shades will also help to make the natural textures and curved shapes stand out and sing. The natural raw materials will also help to keep the space feeling authentic, fresh and handmade which is fitting to the brand’s identity. Bespoke shelving and seating has been added to the space to create organic forms that contrast with the existing building and add the personality of Salt Water Studios into the space.
