Self Directed Project

Brief: This was my first self-directed project where we were asked to pick from three potential outcomes which were, an interior scheme, a styled shoot and a competition/live brief. In this we were asked to produce a construction pack with FF&E schedule and client research, a professional presentation and marketing and social media for the project.

I chose to take the interior scheme route by redesigning a cafe near Plymouth. I was able to visit the site and do a site measure as well as get a feel for the surroundings. I then used this to inform my designs for the space as well as the branding. I wanted to steer away from the typical seaside theme for a cafe by the beach. For my redesign I want the space to feel more fresh and welcoming. I looked at incorporating the natural environment surrounding the cafe as well as including natural textures and materials in the space.
